FOR-A and Panasonic Collaborate on Developing 'P2HD/AVC-Intra'-Compatible Product; FOR-A's Media Management System ...
Tokyo, Japan, Nov 20, 2007 - (JCN Newswire) - FOR-A Company, Ltd. and Panasonic, the brand for which Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., (Nachrichten) Ltd. is known, have agreed to collaborate on developing a series of products compatible with Panasonic's solid-state memory broadcasting and professional video recording system "P2HD".FOR-A's proprietary media management system conforms to AVC-Intra codec, enabling the system to ingest a full-spec HD video data (1920x1080 pixels, 10 bit 4:2:2 sampling) captured by Panasonic AJ-HPX3000 P2HD camcorder, and manage as meta data, so that searching and previewing of captured video data is possible with a terminal workstation compatible with the AVC-Intra codec. The system can also be linked with an AVC-Intra-compatible non-linear editing system and a video titler via network, to provide a shared storage for media materials, or function as an archive system.
Flip Video Camera
" If you're in the market for an ultra-portable, highly affordable camcorder, the Flip Video and slightly improved Flip Video Ultra may be two of the best choices you can make. I was highly skeptical about the Flip even after reading rave reviews in places like the Wall Street Journal and Forbes. You can't possibly shoot decent looking video for under $150; at least that's what I thought. At just thicker than an iPod, the Flip easily fits in your pocket meaning you have no excuse to not take it with you.The $120-$150 price makes it not the end of the world if you ever drop or lose your Flip. And for that price, the Flip shoots video I'd put up against any of the DVD camcorders on the market and some of the low-end MiniDV camcorders.I'm not about to replace my Canon HV20 (or a Canon GL2) with the Flip, but for many situations, it's the perfect camcorder for catching impromptu moments."I'm a big believer in that the best camera is the one you always have with you.
ROMANCE, RICHES, AND RESTROOMS
This slightly fictionalized memoir of life with irritable bowel syndrome is engrossing in every sense. You’ve probably been there—trapped in a confined space or an inescapable social event, with nary a bathroom in sight, clenching ever more desperately to contain the building pressure in the colon. But for Phelan, an IBS sufferer since his college days, such crises of "explosive diarrhea" were a daily—sometimes hourly—occurrence. Inevitably, they happened in the most inopportune settings: a first date; a sales call; weddings and funerals; an airport shuttle van (Phelan was able to run to a nearby park to relieve himself; unfortunately, a passerby caught the proceedings on a camcorder); on a ski lift, where Phelan’s companions mistook his intestinal eruptions for nearby anti-avalanche blasting.
