How to: Jump in Mirror Lake

On the Thursday before each Michigan game, thousands of students descend upon Mirror Lake. Some are drunk, others sober but they all have a a burning hatred for all things Michigan.

1. Duct tape is important.
If you don't want to risk stumbling around the lake barefoot, but you also don't want to lose your sandals in the murky water, use duct tape to tape them to your feet before you jump in. Make sure they're taped nice and tight - almost like a duct tape sock. It might sound goofy, but unless your shoes or sandals are literally taped to your feet, you will lose them. There could be glass and other foreign objects at the bottom of the lake so tennis shoes are also a good choice.

2. Have a meeting spot.
Have a friend waiting at the edge of the lake (but not too close) with dry clothes and a towel for you to use after you jump.
